Judy graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Pacific Lutheran University. She has taught classroom music in Alberta, Washington, and Iowa and for the last nine years, has led the Lower School music program at Saint George’s School. She also serves as president-elect for the Inland Empire Orff Association. Prior to teaching in Spokane, Judy enjoyed a career in health care as a Recreation Therapist. She developed intergenerational programs with school districts and long term care facilities and practiced music therapy with groups and individuals. Judy has presented at the Washington Choral Directors Summer Institute at University of Puget Sound and has served as guest conductor for the Eastern Washington MEA 5th and 6th Grade Honor Choir and this fall will be presenting at the Alberta Music Conference. In 2010, Judy and her 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students had the honor of opening a national music conference for 2000 music educators with an original 20 minute work that featured music, dance and visual art. She is married to Marc A. Hafso and is a proud parent to a son and three daughters.
